This is my talk I gave for NCFCA this year. I'd like to hear what you think about it. :) (:

Can man do everything he chooses? Can man fly to the moon without a machine? Can he take a deep breath and live under water for a day without oxygen?

Today I will be talking on the topic of:

Free Will

I shall be dealing with the subjects of predestination, foreknowledge, the sovereignty of God, human ability and free-will. Let me just say that this is a very large and deep subject that has been debated for centuries. My hope today is to persuade you to see how we don’t necessarily have a free-will?

The view that I hold is one that was held by men such as: R.C. Sproul, Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Owen, John Piper, Jonathan Edwards, and St. Augustine.

We are going to explore three points today, 1^st Human Will. 2^nd God’s Will and 3^rd The Importance.

First Human Will

Martin Luther wrote a book entitled “The Bondage of the Will.” He considered it his most important work because it spoke of the issues that he regarded as being, the cor ecclesiae, the very heart of the church. I agree with Luther and that is why I chose this topic. I will get into this more in my last point. This is a matter of proper knowledge of self and God. Luther pressed the issue of the relationship between God’s foreknowledge and human events.

I love to play chess. When I’m playing there are many moves during a game I cannot predict with absolute certainty. Although I can consider the possible moves my opponent can make in the future parts of the game.

However, God’s foreknowledge is perfect and absolute. He doesn’t have to wait a couple moves to see what will happen. In His predestined plan He knows every word before it is formed on our lips. Luther’s crucial point is that God wills whatever he foreknows and foreknows whatever he wills.

We have a mind and a will. We have a natural ability to choose what we desire. What’s the problem then? What’s the nature of our desire behind our will? Does fallen man, in and of himself, have a natural desire for Christ? Jonathan Edwards answers “No!” Augustine’s Latin formula was non posse non peccare. Meaning- after the fall man was morally incapable of living without sin.

Jonathan Edward’s said this, “A man never, in any instance, wills any thing contrary to his desires, or desires any thing contrary to his will.” -Think for a second about the choices you made today, like coming to judge and why this category? Perhaps it was because all the other events were full and you had to, which I hope is not the case, but still you had to make the choice to agree to judge anyway. A choice is made because of your strongest inclination at that moment. What about sin? Christians have a desire in their hearts to obey Christ. Yet we sin. If we always desired to obey Christ more then we desire to sin, we would never sin. Rom. 7:19 “For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.”

Our will is not free in the sense that it’s in bondage to our own desire and our desire is in bondage to our sinful nature. Our will is free to choose what it desires but our desires our enslaved to sin. Rom. 3:12 says “…no one does good, not even one.” Our will and abilities are, because of the fall, corrupt and we are completely unable to do what is right. This leads me into my second point.

God’s Will

I’ve come across many people who refer to 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord…not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

They imply that God isn’t in complete control because He doesn’t wish that any perish. He wishes that some things happen and that some things don’t happen. God is just waiting for us to make a decision toward repentance that He hopes we will make.

In response to these statements we need to define and distinguish God's decreed will from His declared will. We must distinguish between what God actually does will to happen and what He would like to see happen, and both of these things can be spoken of as God's will.

What do I mean when I say the decreed will of God? This is Gods secret will of decree when he predestined everything that comes to past before the foundations of the world.

What about the declared will of God? This is Gods revealed will where he declares what we should and shouldn’t do. We all can and do resist this will and fall short of the glory of God.

An example of the two wills of God can be clearly seen at the cross. At the cross we see a difference in what God would like to see happen and what He actually does will to happen. The Father willed the death of His perfect Son while at the same time forbidding murder. It was according to His decreed will (His plan) but against His declared will (His law). In other words there is a sense in which God willed the delivering up of his Son, even though the act was sin. We must distinguish between what God would like to see happen and what he actually does will to happen.

It is not His declared will that any should perish but it is His decreed will to save some and not others. "For he says to Moses, 'I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.' So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy." (Rom 9:15-16) The Holy Spirit will work in the lives of the elect so that they inevitably will come to faith in Christ. We do not ‘choose’ to be saved by our own will,

Left to our own fallen-will we are unable to choose without the Father first choosing us. John 6:44 says "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him."

Rom 9:17-23 – “For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills. You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory.”

God’s wills are perfect and they affect how we act and what happens. We need to understand this before we can understand ourselves. Without God’s grace we are going to sin without a doubt. Bottom line, God is God and we are not. Now that I have explained the different wills, we will now look at their importance. My last point…

The Importance.

We need to understand this because when we don’t we tend to fashion a god in our mind who is lesser than the true and all sovereign God. Instead of God molding us into his likeness we try to mold Him into our likeness. The sovereignty of God, as Luther said, is at the very heart of the Church. Why is it? I’ll tell you why. Our fallen nature wants to be in total control and so we fashion a god in our minds who is less than sovereign; we than break the 1^st and 2^nd commandments by creating a false god who allows us to stay in control.

All of us, like sheep, have gone astray and if it wasn't for God’s sovereign and irresistible Hand drawing us to Himself, even while we were dead in our trespasses and sins, we would still be lost.

We don’t come into the world and turn back saying, “Hey, I never said you could make me; why didn’t you ask for my permission?” Lazarus also didn’t say “I never said you could raise me from the dead.” Lazarus didn't need to give Jesus permission to raise him from the dead. "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" Eph 2:4-6

On the way to this tournament we prayed that we may have traveling mercies and that God’s sovereign hand may be over us and protect us. When we pray this way we are admitting and presupposing that God is God, God may intervene, and transcend individual free-will in order to keep us safe.

If we are ignorant of the foreknowledge of God, Martin Luther said. “Christian faith is utterly destroyed, and the promises of God and the whole gospel fall to the ground completely; for the Christian's chief and only comfort in every adversity lies in knowing that God does not lie, but brings all things to pass immutably, and that His will cannot be resisted, altered or impeded.”

When I’m playing chess, my opponent can set up traps that will destroy me. I cannot foresee all things in the game because I did not foreordain every move my opponent makes. God, however, foreknows and foreordains all things. He cannot be lead astray in His foreknowledge and predestination. Nothing happens outside or against His decreed will and so there can be no free-will in man.

We looked at 1^st Human will. How our will is free to choose what it desires but our desires our enslaved to sin. 2^ndly God’s wills. God’s wills are perfect and they affect how we act and what happens. Lastly The Importance. We saw that having the wrong view of this can cause us to doubt our faith and limit Gods sovereignty.

In conclusion, can man do whatever he chooses? Can he fly to the moon without a rocket? No. Man's will is not free because it’s limited by his nature. I hope I’ve persuaded you to go and search the Scriptures. Know where your stand is in this great debate!

Ps. 3:3- “But you, O Lord, are a shield about me...” We’re not going to be stabbed in the back; because God has our back’s protected. If we’re fearful we must ask, “Why am I afraid?” Is it because you think, “’I’ can’t make it through this”? Fear must never be because of the circumstances, but of the Lord. To be gripped in terror or fear is wrong even in the normal every day life situations. We need to transform our fear into faith. (Luke 8:22-25) On that boat they had no need to fear because Jesus was with them. All he had to do was rebuke the storm and would stop. It says Jesus slept though it and they had to wake him. “Why…” they wondered, “…does he not care, why isn’t he helping us through this danger?” Sometimes it seems that way to us, we think God doesn’t care because he’s not doing anything that we see, but He’s there waiting for the right time, building our faith in Him. Worry is an Arminian sin, because you’re not trusting in God’s sovereign hand over you.

“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”-Rom. 5:3-5. God always looks at your character and why you do or say something. Afflictions bring about your perseverance and perseverance improves your character. God uses the troubles in your life to make you able to go through troubles. The troubles aren’t there to cripple you but to build your character. If you have strong character God will reward you and be with you always.

“Man who is born of a woman is few of days and full of troubles.”-Job 14:1. Death is one of the few certainties of life. (Matt 6:25-33) We as Christians face future and present troubles but that doesn’t mean we have to waste all day worrying about tomorrow or the next or the next. We don’t have to worry because God has it all under control, even though we don’t and we’re not supposed to, because we’re not God. He feeds the birds and cares for them. If he does that for them, and we are made in His image, shouldn’t He care way more about us than the birds and beasts of the field? If you’re in pain now while you’re following Christ then it’s because He’s protecting you from a greater pain later. You might think, “How could anything be worse than this?” You know obedience is hard, but disobedience is lethal. You have to keep going forward, even if it seems you’re going into the grave as Jesus did. But that wasn’t the end. If you turn back, you’ll sink into the water as Peter did.

We can be left alone by God. “And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”-Matt 7:23. We can be banished from the presence of Him who is everywhere and erased from the knowledge of Him who knows all. Ignored!!! That’s reality. God takes us through times that seem like that’s happening to us, to remind us that if we lose our fear and trust in the Lord that can happen. But if we keep our faith in the Lord “…’I will never leave you nor forsake you’…’The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’” -Heb 13:5-6.

Think to yourself- “Where have I located my glory?” Do you glory in stuff? If so, relocate your glory. You’re the “…lifter of my head” –Ps 3:3 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;”-Is. 43:2. When we’re going through tough times (as we see it) God is with us every step of the way. But he also says it’s not going to overwhelm us, so God’s not going to give us more than we can handle. We may think it’s too much, but God knows us better than we do ourselves. He is actually preparing and building our strength so that we can face future troubles or He’s doing it so we don’t have to face a larger trouble up ahead. Ask yourself “Am I afraid?” If so, remember who Christ is and put all your faith in Christ alone. We’re supposed to cry aloud to God, articulate in speech, not just in our head or heart. God doesn’t want us just to think it, but speak it. God is surrounding us with His shield. If God is with us, who can be against us? Ps 56:4, 11- “In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? ¹¹, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

Rom 4:20-21- “No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.”

I started Omnibus today with dad as my teacher and Ellie as a fellow student. I can't wait to start posting the new things I learn. Yep today I've lived 15 years. Some people have told me "It seems like yesterday you were a baby." I said in reply "Now what does it seem like I am?" I can't wait to live another year for Christ. The Makers Hand at Work

The past weekend has been a roller coaster of emotions. Many of my cousins and family has made it to regionals. After we found out who broke to the finals we found out that my soon be cousin has past away. Once I heard the news I felt I came to the end of my rope unable to tie a knot and hang on. I had no idea what to do but walk around the building several times before I let my friends comfort me and I tried to comfort my cousins. This has been a great example of Gods immance. Thank God that He let us receive the news with all our friends their to be as one family. A couple minutes after we found out the apologetics rounds started and I went into a round to get away from all that grief in hopes that it would be a misunderstanding but it was Tait Deems who talked on the subject of God's Sovereignty. He based it all on what happened that God was in control. Then I knew it was God who sent the child to prove his sovereignty and why did I question God's plain, He who knows the way that everything will come to. Now it is in covenant with God because God sent His Son to die for us. I was surrounded by God's glory and that the baby was dancing before God and aunt Jodi who was the mother of the child was in complete satisfaction of God being with the child instead of herself. Then I knew it was true and I watched the duo's and became joyful only because the baby was safe with the King of Kings the same King who conquered death.

Once again a tournament has sneaked up on me. Now only 2 days 'till the big thing. This has been a terrifying, exciting, breath taking adventure. I just hope I'll make it out alive. Alright,
Today I was able to go with my Uncle Ryan to a couple places. I had the most wonderful time with him, thank you very much. Well I better get to what we did, right? Ok so Ryan and I went to get some stuff for my bow such as broadheads, arrows, and to sight it in. Of course he taught me a ton more about what to do and whats probably going to happen when out in the woods hunting. I get so excited everyday, thinking of how awesome the last hunting trip was and when I go again how much more fun it will be. I cant wait to shoot my bow again, now that it's dialed in. I hope to do another post soon.

I'm Back

Wow,

It's good to be back to the blog world. It's been so long since I've been on here. So I'll just list some of the main things I've been doing, they are as follows- cooking, schooling, eating, dulcimering, reading, working, etc. I went, a while back, with my uncle Ryan bow hunting for elk near the end of September which was a fantastic experience. We went for 4 days in the woods and got into the elk every day. Thank you so much Uncle Ryan. I also did a little recording I did with my teacher (Glenn Freese) on the hammered dulcimer and him on the guitar. I started a class with my father (well not just me but Kaila, Karissa, Alex, David, Destiny, Collin, Devin, Anna, Ellie, and Emma) called A Workman approved by God which is by Mark Keilar. We've been learning about Hermeneutics. I've also been reading two awesome books which are The Children Of Hurin by J.R.R. Tolkien and Rise Of The Dibor by Christopher Hopper. Both these books are very well written and I advise you to take a look at them. The first one is the book that inspired me to write a book which I've been doing. I still am not sure on the title but it may be Unknown Age. Now don't think I'm going to start posting just because I posted ;)

Yesterday was an awesome day. Some of you know and are aware of it and for thous who are not aware of it well sit back and let me explain it to you. Well it stated 14 years and 1 day ago. On that day was a birth, yep it was a birthday. Now can you guess what it is or should I say who it is. Ok just look to your (left.) : ) Now you see who it is, it's a....boy named Collin. He's the next down from me of the cousins. I don't know why he's sticking his tung out, I guess that must be Collin : ) He's a funny guy. He also is a Godly man as well. I know looks are deceiving but don't judge this book by it cover, ha ha you all say because that is as you very well know absolutely not correct I mean look at him. I was Abel and he was Cain I mean I was able to watch him play at Prospect because me Grandma took me. If you would of saw/heard him you would of been blown away at his abilitys of the Mando. Ok enoughs enough.

What I've been doing,

Hello you all,
Today I went outside into a wonderful bright sunny day. I know you are probably mad at me because of me not posting for so long, but that is how life is:) You see up above the great thing I received from my wonderful Grandpa and Grandma. It's a magnetic chess board. Also you see at the top some weired thing or maybe you don't, try to find it. I finished another book by N.D.Wilson called 100 Cupboards. It was a great book and I enjoyed it a lot.

A very important day

Hello out there,
Ok lets get right to it because a ton of awesome things happened yesterday. The 1st thing that happened was that I woke up to another day to serve the Lord. Next I got ready to go to get baptized. I couldn't wait to get baptized. When we got there ( the Goldman's, Kruse's, and Us) David played the piano, then we sang worship, after that we all got up and said a few thing, the next thing done was my dad gave a little sermon on baptizam it was really good, We all got baptized after that, from oldest to youngest in each family (my dad baptized us). Now we are all part of God's covenant. The next thing that we did was we took communion. We than had potluck. Oh I almost for got there will be pictures to come or I might list a couple of blogs that have them.

Today I thought I'd show you this video of me playing my Hammered Dulcimer. It is being recorded by my recorder that Grandpa Ken and Grandma Dot gave me for Christmas. They are so awesome, wonderful, and loving to me and there other grandkids, Thanks. My teacher (Glenn Freese) made the Hammers for meI said that in the video but I thought I'd say it here to because it is so awesome and I love them so much he is the best teacher. What I'm Reading - "The Cat of Bubastes"

Tonight I read 20 pages of a book by G. A. Henty. It’s a story about ancient Egypt called “The Cat of Bubastes”. It started out with a people called the Rebu. The prince of the Rebu is the main part of the story so far, where I am in the book, and his name is Amuba. The Egyptians attack the Rebu and win. During the fight the King gets shot with an arrow and dies. The mom kills herself by drinking poison because she didn’t want to be a slave of the Egyptians. They take the Amuba and a friend of his who is an adult his name is Jethro. They get taken to Egypt and are made to serve in the temples and then sold to a man with a son, wife, and daughter. They have a ton of animals. Amuba learns all kinds of Egyptian thinking and how they do stuff. He learns how to hunt different animals and kills a Neboot. A cat of Bubastes got sick and died (the Egyptians considered cats sacred and if someone had killed one they must die even if it was an accident). The priests went to search for another cat take its place but it had to be magnificent. They chose the cat of the priest’s daughter. Now to what I read tonight: the two boys, Amuba and Chebron (the son of the priest), both went to kill a hawk that had been eating some of their animals. Both of them went to the place where the animals were kept and brought their bows to kill the hawk. Amuba hit the hawk and killed it but Chebron missed and hit a tree and the arrow bounced off the tree and killed the cat chosen to be the Cat of Bubastes. Chebron, worried that he would be put to death, stood there so still that you would think he has a statue. Amuba, who did not know the discipline for killing a sacred animal, asked “what’s the matter?” Chebron explained the consequences of killing a sacred animal. Amuba buried the cat and leveled the ground and then wiped all the blood up while Chebron went to tell his father Ameres. Later Ameres (The Priest) taught the boys about God and how they had been worshiping false gods. He told them all about the Israelites. When Chebron’s sister came home she said the cat is missing. So she made a huge search party to begin a search for the cat.

Saturday we had Grandpa Ken, Grandma Dot, and the Kruse’s over for our Sabbath meal. We had 22 people in are dinning room. I hope I can post a little video of it but for now any how you'll have to just hear (read) what it was like. At 6:00 pm let the fun began I like to say that is on the Sabbath. It was really loud because of the so many different conversations going on. We had all kinds of ciders for our drinks. We had some corn from my garden, sweetish balls, scallop potatoes, and salad. The Kruse’s stayed till 1:00 am talking. They left and we all went to bed.

Romans 12:1

Romans 12:1. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

We need to become a worshipful people, before we can become a merciful people.

This verse in Romans 12:1 has 4 key words that I want to talk to you about today:

Body, Living, Holy, and Acceptable

The 1^st key word used in Rom 12 is:

Body – “present your bodies as a living sacrifice”

God wants your whole body; your head, your arms, your legs, your lips, and your toes… he wants all of you.

· 1 Peter 2:5. You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

· The Bible, in Isaiah 53, describes Jesus as having “no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him”

o God doesn’t judge us by what we look like (our cover), after all, even Jesus was a perfect book with an imperfect cover

o Man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.

The 2^nd key word used in Rom 12 is:

Living – ““present your bodies as a living sacrifice”

· We need to be a living sacrifice, in other words, we need to live our lives for God almighty.

· Present your bodies as a living sacrifice.

o He’s not asking everyone to die for Him; He wants us to LIVE for Him

· In whatever we are able to do with our lives we must live for God and His glory.

The 3^rd key word used in Rom 12 is:

Holy – “present your bodies… holy… to God”

Holy means “set apart”

Our lives need to be set apart for God’s glory and His purposes

· Heb. 13:15-16. “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

· Some of the ways we can offer our bodies as a living sacrifice is to:

o Give praise to God

o Acknowledge God with our lips

o Do Good deeds

o And share what we have

· These are the things that set us apart for the service of God

The 4^th and final key word used in Rom 12 is:

Acceptable – As in “holy and acceptable to God”

You may ask, “How could my imperfect body be an acceptable sacrifice?”

· He isn’t looking for perfect bodies

o Remember, even Jesus had a body that was described as not having beauty

o He’s just looking for bodies willing to serve.

o It is through the Christ that our service is made acceptable

Peter Said “My body is to show that I love Jesus Christ more than any comfort on earth.”

1 Cor. 6:19-20 – “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

The Life Of Kolten

Hello my name is Kolten Victor Anderson I’ll tell you about my Past, Present, and Future.

First I’ll start with the Past. I’ve been very blessed to be raised in a Christian family. When I was born I weighed 8 pounds 8 oz. I was born in Washington North of Spokane on a ranch called AGK which stood for America’s Growing Kingdom or Anderson’s, Goldman’s, and Kruse’s. We moved here when I was 3. I’m Scottish, German, and Finnish.

Now to my Present. I’m 13 year’s old 5 feet 2 inch tall. I have an awesome Dad, a wonderful Mom, two older sister’s Kaila, and Karissa, Three younger sisters Ellie, Esther, and Katrina, and two younger brothers Levi, and Noah thus makes us a family of ten. I play the Hammered Dulcimer and started last December. Here are a few things I like alphabetically, Animals, blogging, bike ridding, camping, cooking, commenting on blog’s, card games, carving, eating, gardening, hiking, hunting, music, pencil drawing, ridding the quad, skating, and ships I like ships so much that my whole bedroom is full of them. I have 17 models of ships, etc.

On to the Future. I can only tell you what I hope for it, because it hasn't happen yet. I hope for 10 kids with a big house, lots of land, grass, trees, and rocks. I want to do a home based business called Mannatech which gives the best product and good money. I hope God will help me in raising God fearing kids because I can’t do it by my self. I want to be a preacher and turn lives around.

This is a thing I typed for Speech class. I didn't copy Destiny, because I already thought of doing it. We could only do 250 words or it would be allot longer.

I got back here yesterday at about 10:00 pm. When we were on are way home Aunt Jodi looked up some homeschooling stores and found an awesome one called Exodus near Portland they were closed on Sunday so we had to stay another night. Now we got the next morning and got there at 11:00 am then left at 5:00 pm with out eating lunch and only had for breakfast was some yogurts; but it was really cool because there was 100 shelves and over 6,000 books. Over all we all had a blast and i can't wait to do it some other time.

Hey everybody,
Well on the third day of this month my Uncle Ryan took me up to Dutchman's peek on my quad and he took his motorcycle. We road for 3 hours and we sure had a great time. It was really sunny, and I was going over a 2 foot snow bank, and I hit the dirt w/my back tires and it threw me off. You can't really tell on the pictures but it got real steep at the top. My quad got a flat tire and a chunk of the plastic broke off. I didn't get hurt except for a couple of bruises. It happened in a second, God really protected me.

Jesus was taken to the execution ground outside the city on a major road, where all would see what happened to criminals under Rome.

Those who were crucified did not die from the wounds in the hands or ankles. The blood in the suspended victims, especially ones who had lost a lot of blood from whippings, was forced down into the lower body. The pulse rate increased; after agony, which might have lasted for days, the victim died from lack of blood circulating to the brain and heart.

As Jesus suffered excruciating pain during the crucifixion onlookers either mocked or they sorrowed. In fact that’s where we get the word excruciating; it means “from the cross”. Even the thieves who were crucified too “heaped insults to Him.”

Jesus hung on the cross from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Then, at noon, a terrible darkness covered the sun. After three more hours, at about 3:00 p.m., Jesus cried out, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” This cry reflects the anguish of the cross.

It was not just the physical pain that tormented Jesus. It was the fact that when our sin was laid on Him, He was made sin for us (2 Cor. 5:21). At that moment, for the first and only time, the Father turned away from the Son, and Jesus experienced the full meaning of the separation from God that sin always causes. A moment later, the work was done, Jesus “breathed His last.” the Savior had died; it was finished. But in three days He would rise again!

“The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” This meant that there was, now, direct access to God for the worshiper into the most Holy Place. Because of what Christ did, we can now freely and boldly enter into the presence of Almighty God. The tearing of the curtain showed that now, through the death of Jesus, the way to God was open to those who believe.

Isaiah 53:5 says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.”

Here Jesus took on our sins so that we may be forgiven, we may be healed, we may have access to the Father and we may enter into eternal life with Him. All you must do is repent of your sins and receive Him as Lord of your life. We broke the Law of God. We deserve the wrath of God. We became enemies of God. Yet Jesus took it all upon Himself for those whom He calls and those who repent and trust in Him.

This is a speech I gave at two elderly homes.

Today my dad and me went to Grandpa and Grandma's house and got Levi's swing set then we came home and made most of it. I also did my dulcimer lessons today and learned the rest of Morison's Jig.

Today is Levis Birthday, so happy birthday Levi. He turned 6 years old today. We had his birthday today and what we did was Karissa made some tickets that said what we get like 5 Red vines 1 pass to a movie Etc. We did some games and we got prizes. that was real fun.

Yesterday all the girls except for Kaila, went to ballet and when they were there Dad took Kaila, Levi, and me up to my Grandpa's house to ride my quad. The Goldman's came to our house and we rode the quad some more at our house.

Today we did school. Drew and Tessa Deems came to our house to play. Travis came to our house as well to fix the wheel on my quad, when he got it done i started to drive and then it ran out of gas and we did'int have any so dad went to get some. I went to hammered dulcimer lessons and when we came home i got to ride my quad. We made a jump and I did no hands, feet on the handel bares, etc. Travis and Vickie came to our house to eat dinner and afterweards we played games with cards and another.

Today my sisters did music lessons. Then we all went to crown and covenant and came home. Dad fond a note on the door saing that his laptop came and so dad took Levi and me to go get it and we got there just in time for it. We watched The Ten Commandments movie.
